Biography
Professor Bryony Hoskins has a chair in Comparative Social Science at the University of Roehampton. She is a world leading expert on citizenship education, how inequalities effects political socialisation and how to develop and test effective education interventions to address inequalities in political engagement and democracy. She has in-depth knowledge and experience in measurement including how to assess Life Skills and Citizenship Education both in Europe and the Middle East and North Africa. She leads various international research projects including the intervention for the Gender Empowerment through Politics in Classrooms (G-EPIC) project that supports disadvantaged girls to increase their confidence in political engagement across 5 countries and funded by UKRI/EU Horizon programme and UNICEF quality assurance for Measuring Life skills and Citizenship Education. She works with international and national organisations to ensure that her research results are translated into policy and teaching practices. At the international level, she is currently working with the OECD to develop indicators on inclusive education and the Council of Europe on developing scorecards to evaluate Gender Inequality in Education.
